Situation at Ukrainian-Russian border

The situation at the border in the ATO area still remains difficult. Border guards continue to perform tasks following the General plan of the anti-terrorist operations. Terrorists and Russian mercenaries continue making attempts to violate the territory of Ukraine and shoot the places of deployment of the border units.

From 8.25 p.m to 9.30 p.m. (10.08.2014) on the section of Stanychno-Luhanske border service department (Luhansk region) from the territory of the Russian Federation (the area of the Manotsky settlement the border troops were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.

From 2.00 a.m to 2.30 p.m. (11.08.2014) up to 60 mortar rounds were performed on Uspenka border checkpoint (Donetsk region). Fires were shot from three directions, including the Russian territory.

Aerial intrusions into the airspace of Ukraine are continued:

At 10.50 p.m. (10.08.2014) at the area of Krasna Talivka settlement (Luhansk region) was detected the UAV in the direction of Voloshyno (the Russian Federation) - Krasna Talivka (Ukraine);

At 11.00 p.m. the UAV was detected in the direction of Chertkovo (the RF) – Milove in the area of Milove border checkpoint;

At 02.25 a.m. (11.08.2014) in the area of Krasna Talivka border checkpoint border guard patrol detected the UAV, that violated the airspace of Ukraine at the height of about 2 kilometers, flew in the depth of about 2 kilometers and backwards;

At 11.00 p.m. (10.08.2014) at the section of Chervony Chaban (Kherson border guard division) border guard patrol detected one UAV that violated the airspace and flew in the direction of Makarivka and Kayirka settlements at a height of 1 kilometer;

At 9.15 p.m. (10.08.2014) at the section of Berdyansk at the area of control of Berdyansk border guard division in Shevchenko settlement was detected the UAV that flew along the shoreline and small arms were used against that.

In Luhansk and Donetsk regions on August 10, the work group held activity to determine places of arrangement of engineering and other blocks on certain border sections.

On August 10, at the airport "Boryspil" landed the plane of the Air Forces of Canada, that has delivered another cargo, in particular helmets and body armours. They are intended for border units involved in the ATO.
