Government is ready to transfer an international investigation to our Dutch friends
“Ukraine is
ready to transfer the role of coordinator in investigating how the Malaysia
Airlines Boeing 777 was shot down to the Western partners”, reported Ukrainian
PM Arseniy Yatsenyuk at a
press briefing at the Ukraine Crisis Media Center. “The Netherlands may lead
the investigation in close coordination and cooperation with the Ukrainian
institutions and the international community,” reported Ukrainian PM Arseniy Yatsenyuk at a press
briefing at the Ukraine Crisis Media Center on Monday, July 21.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk also stated that, according to the State
Emergency Service, as of today, 272 bodies of innocent victims of the Malaysia
Airlines Boeing 777 crash had been discovered, 251 of them were in train
refrigerators at the Torez station: “We sent two
trains, with four cars each. They are right now located in Torez
city. Controlled and coordinated from Russia, they are not letting us send the
bodies to Amsterdam.”
According
to him, the operation involves 810 employees, 355 of which are employees of the
State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
The PM
informed that the Ukrainian Security Service had already started a
comprehensive and thorough investigation of this deadly terrorist attack, of
this crime against humanity under the existing bilateral agreement between
Ukraine and Netherlands. “We are ready in the full cooperation with the Dutch
side and another international and foreign agencies to
conduct this type of investigation”, he added.
The
position of the Ukrainian Government as to the investigation, according to Arseniy Yatsenyuk, remains
unchanged: "an all-encompassing, transparent, and full-fledged
international investigation of the tragedy."
Arseniy Yatsenyuk also noted that the Government was ready to
transport all bodies directly to Amsterdam for necessary independent tests to
be conducted: "As regards autopsy and forensic tests of all persons who
died, then one of the best well equipped forensic laboratories is located in
Amsterdam”.
"At
this stage we have no doubt that this plane was shot down. The crash was caused
by a missile attack and, most likely, it is a system Buk-M1. Also, it is
absolutely clear that intoxicated pro-Russian terrorists cannot manage and
operate such a system. They are people trained on Russian territory,” he noted.
“It is from Russia that the criminals received weapons, money, training and
skills.”
“Those who
committed this international crime, those responsible will be held accountable,
and together with the entire international community we will bring to justice
everyone responsible, including the country which is behind the scenes, but
which supplied a lethal weapon, provided financial support, trained these
bastards, and supported and even orchestrated this kind of despicable crime”,
emphasized Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
“The
Ukrainian Government will do everything to investigate this crime, to transfer
the bodies, to provide any support to all respective Governments, and to unfold
the truth to the entire world”, the PM underlined
