Ukraine to hold a donor conference on Donbas restoration
Prime
Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk announced a donor conference on the plan for the Donbas
restoration with the
participation of big business representatives.
The PM
reminded that yesterday, on July 16, the Government delegation was in Sloviansk, Semenivka and other
cities of Donetsk region "affected by Russian propaganda":
"People are scared. I cannot say that they are very fond of Kyiv power -
people are under the zombification of Russian propaganda.
But I can certainly say that they hate so-called DNR,
LNR and other bandits, who killed civilians and tortured
people there".
"Let's
together by the whole Ukraine rebuild Donbas, fight for Donetsk, for Luhansk, restore the border, keep unity as well as preserve
Ukraine as an independent and unified state," stressed the PM.
According
to the PM, financing of these activities requires billions: "We also need billions in order to provide defense and support for the
Armed Forces and the National Guard."
“I invite big Ukrainian business,
including the ones from Donetsk and Luhansk, to
conduct a donor conference on the plan for the Donbas restoration. State budget
gives its funds, local budgets – its money, as well as private donors, who also
bear responsibility to people. I'm sure that this initiative should enjoy
support. Together with Ukrainian business we will approve a plan for the
revival of the Donbas", noted the PM.
“But in
order to restore the Donbas, we need to stop the military conflict, instigated
by Russia, as well as establish peace. Peace is what Ukraine needs. And this is
what Russia does not need. For peace we all must fight together,” said the PM.
