Valeriy Heletei: Core of terrorists fleeing from Sloviansk was destroyed

"We constantly received information that militants were going to retreat, but we found out in the last minute that it was a column. When we had received information, relevant departments were involved in one of the roadblocks. They waited for this column. They were ready and gave battle. There are dozens of heavy equipment, many killed separatists on the highway from Slaviansk to Artemivsk. It is clear that the column was long enough. Therefore, it wasn’t easy to neutralize simultaneously the whole column, the terrain allowed them to hide in different places. But this does not mean that they were given the opportunity to escape. I think the core, consisting of more than ten units of heavy equipment, was neutralized," said Colonel-General Valeriy Heletei.

The Defense Minister said that today the President of Ukraine - the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has a clear strategy for victory in Donbas region: - "Those steps carried out by the President of Ukraine since unilateral ceasefire.
