Andrii Deshchytsia receives Italian Ambassador and expresses his condolences in connection with death of Italian journalist

On 26 May 2014, Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Deshchytsia received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic to Ukraine Fabrizio Romano.

The Acting Foreign Minister expressed his condolences in connection with the death of Italian journalist Andrea Rocchelli nearby the town of Slaviansk, Donetsk region.

Andrii Deshchytsia assured that the Ukrainian side will undertake a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances of the death of an Italian journalist as well as assist the Italian side in issues related to the repatriation of the body of the Italian citizen.

The sides also discussed the current agenda of Ukrainian-Italian relations, particularly as regards further intensification of bilateral political dialogue following the Ukraine’s presidential elections.
