Vitalii Yarema: Changes in consciousness of militiamen will enable to create European law enforcement system
In an interview with the Krayina on-line [country on-line] program on Era Channel the
First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Vitalii Yarema
expressed a thought that by changing the consciousness of militia
personnel it is possible to create a European law enforcement system.

“It is crucial to transform the law
enforcement system. It concerns not only militia performing the duties in
Luhansk and Donetsk regions, it concerns all the law enforcement bodies operating
on Ukraine’s territory,” Vitalii Yarema said. According to the top official, reforming
should trigger serious changes in the law enforcement system. “Primarily, it
concerns changes in consciousness of militia officers. The mentioned changes
will enable to create a European-like law enforcement system. It is crucial to
solve salary increase and to improve social status of law enforcement officers
as fast as possible,” Vitalii Yarema emphasized. He added the Government had
engaged into this work on a daily basis. Moreover, the First Vice Premier
noted that law enforcement officers who hadn’t been loyal to the oath would
be dismissed and prosecuted. “Nowadays the Ministry of Internal Affairs is
engaged into identifying these persons and preparing orders on their dismissal
with further bringing to justice, pursuant to the current legislation,”
Vitalii Yarema announced. |
