O. Vilkul: Movement of freight trains has been restored after accident of train with propane-butane in Donetsk region

The movement of freight trains after train accident with oil cars of propane-butane that occurred on February 2 in Krasnoarmiysk district of Donetsk region has been restored. The movement of passenger trains will be return to normal mode today at 24:00. 150 meters of tracks and 520 meters of contact networks were also fully restored after the damage; all 26 oil cars with propane-butane were set on the track. In general, the consequences of the accident have been eliminated. The Commission for Technogenic and Ecological Safety and Emergencies continues to work to identify the causes of the accident,"- Olexandr Vilkul, Vice Prime Minister and Chairman of the State Commission for Technogenic and Ecological Safety and Emergencies said.

Despite the high complexity of the accident thanks to operational actions of rescuers, fire-fighters and railroad workers the accident was localized in time and there are no victims.

Recall, due to the accident of the train with 26 oil cars of propane-butane that occurred on February 2 in Krasnoarmiysk district of Donetsk region on the railroad haul "Udachne-Mezhova" the explosion took place; the movement of rail transport was stopped and rerailed. Rescue teams, firefighters, railroad workers immediately began to localize and handle fire, lift oil cars with propane-butane on track to pull back on a safe distance.

50 units of equipment and about 300 employees of the State Service of Ukraine on Emergency Situations and State Administration of Railway Transport of Ukraine "Ukrzaliznytsia" were involved in the elimination the effects of the fire, they worked round the clock.

The Commission led by Olexandr Vilkul took all reasonable measures to promptly eliminate the consequences of the accident and to ensure the safety of people.
