K. Gryschenko: Ukraine is on the final stage of preparations for the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Great Kobzar's birthday

Vice Prime Minister Kostyantyn Gryschenko has chaired a meeting of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and celebration of the 200th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko's birthday on behalf of acting Prime Minister S. Arbuzov.

Opening the meeting Kostyantyn Gryschenko noted in particular that tasks defined by the President and the Government of Ukraine are called to make the anniversary of the national genius - the factor of unity of the Ukrainian people and stimulus to the popularization of our culture in the world.

Particular attention was paid to the need to mobilize efforts to complete the repair and restoration works at the National Museum of Taras Shevchenko and its branches in Kyiv.

Celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Great Kobzar in the regions of Ukraine and preparation of Shevchenko’ facilities in the homeland of the poet - in the Cherkassy region were separately discussed.

At the meeting it was also talked the celebration in the context of invitation of high foreign guests to the festivities in Kiev and holding events abroad.

Participants of the meeting also discussed the exercises on the compatibility of specified in the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated on 31.01.14 № 53 on the development of commemorative badge "The 200th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko's birthday."
