As part of the certification process, Ukrainian company A3tech tested the DOK-ING MV-10 heavy demining machine, assembled and partially localised in Ukraine, at a test site. After obtaining the certificate, the manufacturer will not only launch mass production, but will also have better service capabilities, as the necessary facilities will be available in Ukraine.
"Heavy demining machines significantly accelerate the clearance of territories and increase the safety of personnel working in the field. They have proven their effectiveness in the Kharkiv region and southern Ukraine. Therefore, I can only welcome the fact that a Ukrainian company has started assembling MV-10s in Ukraine. Already, the working body for these machines is 40% made in Ukraine, and by the end of the year this figure is planned to be 100%. This means that in case of damage during blasting, it can be quickly replaced instead of waiting for months for the necessary equipment to arrive from abroad," said Yuliia Sviridenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
The MV-10 has been tested for performance in compacted soil and on sand. The demining vehicle was also tested for its ability to clear vegetation up to two metres high and with a trunk diameter of more than 10 centimetres. During the durability test, the MV-10 withstood five explosions under the working body of the TM-62M anti-tank mine equivalent.
The vehicle is being certified by specialists from the State Scientific Research Institute of Armament and Military Equipment Testing and Certification which is the only institution that can certify this type of product in accordance with international practice.
A3tech has a pre-order for eight MV-10 demining machines. In total, the production capacity can reach up to 60 vehicles per year.
Currently, there are 17 DOK-ING MV-10 heavy demining machines in operation in Ukraine. The machines are used by the SES, State Special Transport Service and the Swiss Mine Action Fund mainly in Mykolaiv, Kherson and Kharkiv regions.
