Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Dmytro Kuleba held an extended meeting to discuss the priority areas of national gender equality policy.
The event gathered representatives of international organizations, diplomatic missions, projects and foundations, as well as Government Commissioner on Gender Policy Kateryna Levchenko and Deputy Ministers.
Dmytro Kuleba stated in his address to the participants that the sphere of gender policy is rather broad - it covers all 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and affects all aspects of life. It is the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine who is responsible for developing and implementing state gender policy within the Government.
The Deputy Prime Minister thanked partners for their assistance and support, which allowed to advance significantly in shaping gender culture within the Ukrainian society and achieving the SDGs.
“We will continue our joint work in this direction. Gender equality is essential for sustainable development and is vital for the realization of human rights”, Dmytro Kuleba emphasized.
Representatives of Ministries and international partners discussed a wide range of existing projects and new ideas to improve cooperation on gender equality.
