Payments in the amount of UAH 8,000 to citizens and businesses affected by the intensified quarantine restrictions in the "red zones" will be made automatically after submitting an application on the Diia portal or application. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stressed in his opening statement at the Government meeting on April 7.
The Head of Government noted that the Verkhovna Rada had already approved the mechanism of support for citizens and businesses, which the Government had developed on commission of the President of Ukraine.
"This mechanism provides for a one-time cash benefit worth UAH 8,000. It had already been in effect in the winter, and we are returning it to the regions falling to the "red zones". It will be possible to register for assistance from the state next week," noted Denys Shmyhal.
In addition, the Head of Government noted that in some regions, after the introduction of the "red" level of epidemic danger and responsible activities of local authorities, the situation with the spread of COVID-19 had stabilized. In particular, there is a decrease in the number of patients and a reduction in bed occupancy at the hospitals.
"If such dynamics continue, it is possible to return such regions to the "orange" zone. This once again demonstrates that adaptive quarantine is working and there is no need to introduce a total lockdown across the country," summed up the Prime Minister.
