The launch of the Dniester PSPS storage pump №4 is an important part of the energy security strategy, which allows PJSC Ukrhydroenergo to fulfill its social responsibilities for reliable electricity supply and providing the population of Ukraine with electric power at the rate set by the Government. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a visit to the Dniester PSPS.
"This unit will ensure reliable operation of the power system of Ukraine during periods of peak loads. Ukrainians will receive reliable electricity supplies and clean energy. Most importantly, PJSC Ukrhydroenergo is tasked with important social responsibilities for the supply of electricity, which is currently used by the population of Ukraine. And this allows us to talk about a cheaper electricity tariff," stressed Denys Shmyhal.
The Prime Minister reminded of the task by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that such facilities should be built and handed over on a permanent basis. "Such facilities will be planned in the "Great Construction" program and the development of industries, and we can already observe the beginning of the construction of the next storage pumps of the Dniester PSPS," said Denys Shmyhal.
It is worth noting that the Government, at its meeting on August 11, made the decision on reduction to 1,44 UAH per 1 kWh of the tariff for the electric power for the population with consumption to 250 kWh. For households with a monthly consumption level of more than 250 kWh, the electricity tariff will remain unchanged. The relevant changes will take effect on October 1, 2021.
