During a working trip to Kirovohrad region on October 26, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal dwelled on the importance of holding energy efficiency measures in Kropyvnytskyi and the region as a whole. According to the PM, this will reduce energy consumption, improve services for consumers and reduce utility payments in the long run.
The Head of Government noted that insufficient energy efficiency measures are a problem in many cities, where heat losses reach more than 40%. According to the Prime Minister, the main reason for heat loss is outdated equipment and worn-out power grids.
"Next year, in synergy with international partners, work will be carried out on the development and implementation of the concept of energy efficiency both for heat-generating companies and for municipal heat supply networks. Extremely important projects concern the insulation of buildings, modernization of networks and infrastructure of heat-generating companies. We discussed this important topic with the mayor and the head of the regional state administration," Denys Shmyhal stressed.
Denys Shmyhal added that in addition to reducing payments and improving services, energy efficiency steps will allow local budgets to save more money and direct them to improve life in cities and communities.
