During a working trip to Kirovohrad region on October 26, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal got acquainted with the work of the contact center of the gas supply company Naftogaz of Ukraine.
The Head of Government checked the offices for processing appeals, halls for receiving incoming calls, and also talked to the staff of the contact center.
"The Government has approved all the necessary decisions to start the heating season without delay. Today, through such contact centers communication between utilities and Naftogaz is conducted on the signing of contracts for the supply of natural gas in accordance with the signed Memorandum. This guarantees the smooth operation of the networks in the autumn-winter heating season," said Denys Shmyhal.
According to the Prime Minister, the Government has crafted 5 steps to resolve the problematic issues and the smooth passage of the heating season. In particular, the price of electricity for 80% of households was reduced to UAH 1.44 per kWh. The Government has also obliged gas supply companies to introduce an annual gas product, which will keep the price unchanged for the population until the end of the heating season. The state-owned company Naftogaz has set a price UAH 7.96 per cubic meter. In addition, Naftogaz offers natural gas for heat-generating budget organizations at a price of UAH 7.42 per cubic meter, and for budget institutions - UAH 13.6 per cubic meter without VAT.
"After concluding a memorandum with the city heads, the Government undertook a commitment to transfer part of the personal income tax and part of the excise tax to the communities next year. This is quite a large resource that will allow local authorities to compensate for the burden of gas prices," Denys Shmyhal underscored.
