
Overall progress in implementing the Association Agreement with the EU has increased by 19% in two years, says Denys Shmyhal
The most dynamic European integration in 2021 could be observed in the sectors of financial services, taxation, public health, energy and transport. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a meeting of the Commission for Coordination of the Implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, which took place on January 26.
The PM noted that the overall progress in the implementation of the Association Agreement had grown in 2021 from 54% to 63%.
"In total, the progress of the Agreement implementation in two years is 19% - this is a successful outcome of joint work of the President, the Government, the Parliament, the Office of the President. I am also grateful for the help of our international partners and colleagues from the European Commission," said Denys Shmyhal.
According to the Prime Minister, the greatest progress in European integration has been made in the field of financial services (+ 26% of fulfilled objectives compared to 2020), taxation (+ 24%), public health (+ 17%), energy + 13%), transport (+ 12%), ecology and agriculture (+ 11% and + 10% respectively).
Denys Shmyhal noted the previous year the Government had approved 61 legal acts in the field of European integration, including the Border Management Strategy, the Concept of the State Target Program for Fair Transformation of Coal Regions of Ukraine until 2030, the National Energy Efficiency Action Plan until 2030 and more.
