  • More than 7,000 km of roads have been renovated and built in Ukraine over the past years, says Volodymyr Groysman

    Over the past years(2016-2019) more than 7,000 kilometers of roads have been renovated and built in Ukraine which is the highest indicator in the last 30 years. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman made this statement today, on August 21. During the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine the Prime Minister presented the current state of affairs in economy, social, education, medicine, defense sectors  and outlined the main priorities that need to be continued. The Head of Government emphasized that logistics, and therefore high-quality roads are a component of Ukraine's economic success.

    "I think this year we will build another several thousand kilometers," Volodymyr Groysman stressed.

    The Head of Government emphasized that during this time in Ukraine the  strategy of connection of regional centers with high-quality roads was approved and implemented, and special attention was paid to local roads. "If this strategy is further implemented, all regional centers will receive new, high-quality and safe roads," the Prime Minister stated.

    According to the Head of Government, an indispensable element of all road projects is the quality of the road surface and traffic safety. Traffic safety program envisages the construction of security islands, safe pedestrian crossings and more.

    The Government proposes to extend such a systematic approach and include not less than UAH 75 billion into the draft State Budget for 2020, of which not less than 10 billion UAH will be allocated for projects of development of local roads - of territorial importance.
