Price for diesel fuel and gasoline reduced by an average of UAH 2 hryvnias in a month due to combating illegal gas stations and individual communications with market participants. Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk said this during a meeting with heads of Regional State Administrations.
"What has changed in terms of simple calculations? For example, Ukrainians' daily fuel costs have fallen by UAH 16.5 million, or by UAH 511 million a month, " said Oleksiy Honcharuk.
The PM added that official fuel sales increased by 6% in a month.
"This means that the amount of taxes paid into the budget has increased as well. In some areas, for example, in Lugansk and Mykolaiv, fuel sales increased by 15%. In Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk and Cherkasy regions- by 14%," the Head of Government explained.
The Prime Minister added that nearly law enforcement agencies and inspecting authorities checked 4,000 illegal gas stations. Some filling stations have been closed, the others will operate under licenses.
"Work in this direction is actively underway. I want to pay particular attention. We know about ways how illegal fuel engulfing the market. We see all changes in the market, so to close the gas station on one street and to open it on the next one - will not work. There is no place for shadow markets in Ukraine!", Oleksiy Honcharuk emphasized.
