Department of Information and Public Communications of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, posted 16 December 2025 15:54

Government winter support continues, emphasized Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

It should be noted that the Cabinet has launched a support package for Ukrainians, which includes financial assistance programs, fixed energy tariffs, energy efficiency measures, and special support for frontline regions and internally displaced persons.

- UAH 6,500 for vulnerable groups

The Prime Minister stressed that today and tomorrow were the last days to submit applications for this program: “We urge you to apply through the Diia and the Pension Fund offices.”

In total, more than 410,000 people have applied for payments. More than 272,000 citizens have already received payments. The funds can be spent on medicine, clothing, and footwear within six months of receipt.

- UAH 1,000 for all citizens

More than 17 million Ukrainians have applied for UAH 1,000. In particular, over 3.3 million applications were submitted for children through the Diia. Some 13 million Ukrainians have already received payments.

The funds received through the Diia can be used until the end of June next year to pay for utilities, purchase medicines, Ukrainian-made products (except for excisable goods), books, as well as for charitable contributions or postal services.

The Head of Government announced that the Cabinet of Ministers had extended the deadline for using funds requested through Ukrposhta until the end of February 2026.

Since last week, it has also been possible to use the funds in grocery networks.

Applications can be submitted until December 24.

- “3,000 km across Ukraine”

300,000 Ukrainians have activated the program in the UZ app.

Since its launch on December 3, more than 24,100 tickets have been registered. The program is actively used by volunteers, students, and children from frontline areas.

The most popular routes are Kyiv-Konotop, Kyiv-Mykolaiv, Kharkiv-Kyiv, Odesa-Dnipro, and Dnipro-Lviv.

“The initiative is operating in test mode on trains to and from frontline regions. This will enable families to visit their loved ones near the front line or residents of frontline territories to move to safer areas for the winter,” said Yulia Svyrydenko.

- Support for frontline regions

This is targeted assistance for residents of frontline regions to help families get through the winter and meet their basic needs:

▪️Compensation of 100 kW of electricity per person per month during the cold months. In November, more than 309,000 families received it. The additional payment is automatically included in the monthly subsidy or benefit for housing and utility services.

▪️The payment of UAH 8,000 for firewood continues with the support of international partners. In total, more than 300,000 households are to receive this assistance.
