Yulia Svyrydenko met with entrepreneurs in Odesa region and thanked them for their work in a frontline area

Working and producing in a frontline area requires great courage from entrepreneurs. This was emphasised by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko during a meeting with Ukrainian manufacturers from Odesa region, as she expressed her gratitude for their work.

“The Government consistently supports the processing industry and continues the Made in Ukraine policies, constantly adapting them for regions with a high level of risk.

This week, we expanded the scope of the war risk property insurance programme. The maximum compensation amount for frontline regions has been increased to UAH 30 million, while compensation for insurance premiums across all regions has been raised to UAH 3 million. A grant programme of up to UAH 16 million is in place to restore equipment damaged by shelling. For Odesa region, as well as other frontline areas, the 5-7-9% programme provides access to investment loans at 1% interest,” Yulia Svyrydenko noted.

Energy supply issues were also discussed, particularly in light of the region’s experience this winter amid massive attacks on infrastructure. The Head of Government spoke about the start of preparations of the energy system and housing and utilities sector for the next winter as part of Odesa region’s resilience plan.

“To ensure the autonomous operation of critical infrastructure, we expect to have 4 GW of distributed generation across the country by the start of the next heating season. Private sector participation is crucial in this effort,” the Prime Minister stressed.

Yulia Svyrydenko underlined that the Government is creating incentives for businesses to invest in their own energy capacity.

Zero-interest loans of up to UAH 10 million over three years for energy equipment continue to be available, with 150 loans already issued totalling UAH 227 million. Additionally, the 5-7-9% loans support the purchase and installation of generation and energy storage facilities up to UAH 250 million over periods of up to 10 years. The Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture is preparing further credit opportunities in the energy sector.

During the visit, Yulia Svyrydenko toured InterChem, a Ukrainian full-cycle pharmaceutical manufacturer. The company’s operations span from molecule development and research to medicine production and distribution. Pharmaceuticals are classified by the OECD as one of the highest-technology sectors, making the development of such production and research particularly significant.

“The enterprise utilises state programmes – its products are included in the National Cashback scheme – and serves as an excellent example of investment in energy independence. It is essential that all Ukrainian enterprises move in this direction and increase their self-sufficiency in electricity through their own generation by next winter,” remarked the Prime Minister.

The Head of Government thanked the entrepreneurs of Odesa region for their uninterrupted operations, job creation, and support for the Ukrainian economy.
