Yulia Svyrydenko: Government, together with state-owned companies, continues to provide targeted support to people during periods of energy instability
The Government continues to provide targeted support to people during periods of energy instability, working together with state-owned companies. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.
“Warmth packages have already been received by nearly 45,000 people with disabilities and lonely pensioners in the areas with the most difficult situation – in Kyiv, Kyiv region, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv and Kirovohrad regions. The kits contain items to help people keep warm, stay connected and power medical devices during prolonged power and heating outages. The packages can be collected from social workers during door-to-door visits,” the Prime Minister said.
The assistance is provided by state-owned companies – Naftogaz Group, Ukrenergo, Ukrhydroenergo, Energoatom and Forests of Ukraine. They are additionally preparing a further 60,000 warmth packages for communities across the country where problems with electricity and heat supply persist. Distribution of the packages is carried out by local social workers during house-to-house visits.
“We are working to ensure that support reaches those who need it most in a timely manner,” noted Yulia Svyrydenko.
