Yulia Svyrydenko: Government transfers state-owned real estate and properties managed by ARMA to address housing issues for IDPs

The Government shall transfer state-owned facilities used by state bodies and state-owned companies, as well as real estate currently managed by the Asset Recovery and Management Agency, for the housing of internally displaced persons. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.

“We are handing over state-owned immovable property and ARMA-managed facilities for the resettlement of internally displaced persons. The premises should not stand idle; they should be used effectively for the benefit of the people,” the Prime Minister said.

The first list includes 112 premises, including shared residential buildings, hotel office premises, and public leisure facilities. They are located in different regions across the country.

By the end of January, the premises will be distributed among the authorities responsible for IDPs.

“We expect that people will be able to use this housing as early as the first quarter of 2026,” said Yulia Svyrydenko.

The Government has also instructed the Ministry of Education and Science to review facilities that have not been used for their intended purpose in the educational process over the past year. They will also be transferred for the needs of IDP housing needs. Previously, a mechanism was created to transfer such assets to new managers for UAH 1.

The next stage is that, within a month, all ministries, in coordination with state-owned companies and the RMAs, as well as ARMA, shall submit to the Government for consideration an additional list of facilities that can be used for the needs of IDPs. The process is coordinated by the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture.
