Department of Information and Public Communications of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, posted 13 April 2026 13:58

As part of the New Ukrainian School reform, the Government continues the systematic modernisation of learning environments. The approach is now changing – moving from piecemeal equipping to comprehensive classroom renewal.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the procedure for providing a subvention of UAH 700 million for the creation of modern educational spaces.

“The funds will be used for equipment, multimedia devices, and furniture for biology, geography, mathematics, physics, chemistry classrooms and STEM laboratories,” commented Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.

At the same time, renovation works must be funded from local budgets or with the support of partners.

This decision forms part of the implementation of the senior specialised school reform – the third stage of the New Ukrainian School.

The subvention will be available to municipal educational institutions that meet the following criteria:

  • are part of the specialised senior school network in 2027 or are specialised lyceums
  • conduct teaching in full-time or mixed format
  • have at least 60 pupils in Year 8
  • provide at least 10% co-financing from the local budget

Project selection will be carried out on a competitive basis. The conditions and the start date for accepting applications will be announced by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
