Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko met with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission, led by Gavin Gray, IMF Mission Chief for Ukraine, which has been working in Kyiv over the past week and held a series of consultations with the government team and the National Bank of Ukraine.

“Ukraine has completed a record eight reviews under the current programme. I am grateful to the IMF for its support throughout these years of full-scale invasion. However, hostilities continue, and the draft state budget for 2026 has been developed with the assumption that the war is far from over,” said Yulia Svyrydenko.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister handed the IMF mission chief a letter requesting a new cooperation programme to support Ukraine over the coming years.

“We agreed to continue necessary consultations between our teams in the coming months to secure a positive decision from the IMF Executive Board by the end of the year,” the Head of Government stated.

The parties also discussed the priorities of the draft state budget for 2026, focusing on issues such as attracting capital for private sector development, deregulation, and energy sector recovery.

“Our priority remains unchanged – funding defence and social programmes. To this end, we are working to identify domestic resources and mobilise international financing,” the Prime Minister emphasised.

Yulia Svyrydenko thanked the IMF team for their consistent and reliable support for Ukraine.
