During a working visit to the Republic of Latvia, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko held a meeting with Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs. The main focus of the talks was strengthening Ukraine’s energy system, which remains one of the primary targets of russian attacks.

The Head of the Ukrainian Government noted that during today’s large-scale attack, the enemy targeted not only residential buildings, hospitals and kindergartens, but also energy and gas infrastructure facilities.

“In Riga, together with Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs, we are discussing increasing supplies of the equipment Ukraine needs, including possibilities for the accelerated transfer of equipment from Latvian heat and power plants to help restore energy facilities in Ukrainian cities,” Yulia Svyrydenko said.

The Prime Minister stressed that the Government is actively preparing for the next heating season and is working to mobilise all available resources and international support to restore and protect Ukraine’s energy system.
