Ukraine achieved productive results during its visit to Latvia. During meetings with Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs and President Edgars Rinkēvičs, discussions focused on preparations for signing a bilateral Drone Deal agreement, support for Ukrainian defence innovation, and the exchange of expertise in the fields of electronic warfare and air defence. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.

The Head of the Ukrainian Government thanked Latvia for its decision to allocate 0.25% of GDP annually to strengthening Europe’s defence through direct support for Ukraine.

According to Yulia Svyrydenko, Ukraine will receive Latvian energy equipment for thermal power plants and combined heat and power plants in the near future.

“This is important assistance as we prepare for winter,” she said.

Latvia is actively involved in the work of the President of Ukraine’s Bring Kids Back UA initiative and the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children.

“The return of every Ukrainian child unlawfully deported by russia remains our shared priority,” the Prime Minister of Ukraine stressed.

Yulia Svyrydenko expressed gratitude for Latvia’s consistent support for Ukraine and the shared understanding that Ukraine’s security is the security of all Europe.

“I thank the Government of Latvia, members of the Saeima, and the entire Latvian people for their solidarity, principled stance and genuine friendship. Together, we are stronger,” she said.
