Yulia Svyrydenko: Norway provides Ukraine with USD 9 billion in funding under the Nansen Programme

Norway has pledged USD 9 billion in funding to Ukraine for this year. This is part of another package of military and civilian assistance under the Nansen Programme.

This was announced by Prime Minister of Norway, Jonas Gahr Støre.

"I would like to thank the Prime Minister of Norway for this announcement he made during his visit to Kyiv," said Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

The Head of the Ukrainian Government noted that today's meeting was a follow-up to the cooperation that had begun with a joint trip to Chernihiv in the early months of the full-scale war. Throughout this time, Norway has been providing Ukraine with extraordinary assistance.

In particular, Norway has made the largest contributions to the PURL initiative, which has already significantly reinforced Ukraine's air defence system.

The parties paid particular attention to energy security issues. Norway's assistance in gas imports, contributions to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, and the provision of grant funding are extremely important. The Norwegian side is also transferring equipment for distributed generation, to be operated at Naftogaz Group facilities.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed promising investment projects that could be supported through Norfund instruments.
