As part of the Accessibility Week, the Government continues its work to create equal opportunities for everyone. At a thematic session of the Cabinet of Ministers chaired by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, Accessibility Ambassadors presented key projects they are implementing together with ministries' teams in their respective fields.

Veteran Denys Kryvenko, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity and the Superhumans team, is helping people undergoing prosthetics and working to make this process simpler and more understandable.

Veteran, blogger, and Accessibility Ambassador Oleksandr Teren, through his own project “Vidval Noh,” is drawing attention to the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development’s “Movement Without Barriers” initiative and, more broadly, to the accessibility of urban spaces in Ukraine.

Yuriy Ivashkevych, a veteran and former soloist of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Philharmonic, Honored Artist of Ukraine, and resident of the Cultural Forces platform, joined the Ministry of Culture’s projects as an Accessibility Ambassador following his rehabilitation.

Veteran Ruslan Topchan, in collaboration with the Ministry for Veterans Affairs, supports veterans and demobilized soldiers, assisting with prosthetics and psychological support. He has also launched an inclusive sports facility and a social transportation service for people with mobility impairments.

Elena Pshenychna, the Ministry of Education and Science’s Accessibility Ambassador, is working with the “KROK” project to ensure that children and young people who need additional support in their education and transition to professional life have a clear and continuous path.

Serhiy Khuda, Deputy Medical Director for Rehabilitation Service Development at the Lviv “Okhmatdyt” Hospital, is working to develop a modern system of pediatric rehabilitation in Ukraine, the implementation of evidence-based approaches and multidisciplinary care, participates in the development of rehabilitation care standards in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, and is also involved in the implementation of the National Barrier-Free Strategy.

“I thank every Ambassador for their systematic work on the core principle of accessibility—equal opportunities for every person. Special thanks to First Lady Olena Zelenska as well as Tetiana Lomakina for their coordination and constant attention to this issue,” said Yulia Svyrydenko.
