On December 6, two generators with a capacity of 550 kVA and 270 kVA, donated by Japan through the JICA agency, were delivered to the town of Nizhyn in Chernihiv region.

The generators will provide reliable power supply to the town’s two boiler houses serving more than 50% of the housing stock, medical and social facilities.

“We are grateful to Japan for the assistance in these difficult times for Ukraine. russian attacks have caused significant damage to the energy infrastructure of Ukraine. Our power engineers are working 24/7 to restore power supply and repair damaged facilities. Now it is extremely important to ensure reliable power supply to consumers, which will be greatly facilitated by reserve power sources,” said Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko.

The Minister also stressed that Japan’s presidency in the G7 is very important for strengthening the bilateral relations.

Japan will continue to provide assistance to Ukraine, including for the winter period. In particular, next week another batch of generators from Japan is expected.
