
High-quality connectivity and integration into the EU Single Digital Market: Government approves Strategy for the Development of Electronic Communications
The state is advancing high-quality digital services to ensure every Ukrainian experiences the benefits of a digital nation, even in the most challenging times. For this reason, electronic communications are a priority area for the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
To ensure the sector’s development is systematic and effective, the Strategy for the Development of Electronic Communications up to 2030 was created in collaboration with partners.
What will this impact?
- Seamless Internet Access. Regardless of location – whether in a village or city, at home or on the move, in a shelter or at work – fast and reliable internet will be available to everyone. A basic need that will become the norm.
- Opportunities for Businesses. Integration into the EU Single Digital Market opens doors for Ukrainian companies. Accessing international markets will become easier, with new customers and competitive advantages within reach.
- Barrier-Free Services. Education, healthcare, and administrative services will be available online, quickly, and without obstacles. High-quality connectivity will make them accessible even in the most remote regions.
- Innovation for Export. Ukraine aims to be Europe’s digital hub. 5G, artificial intelligence, and IoT are not just buzzwords but practical tools for progress. This is an opportunity for Ukrainian startups and tech companies to lead in the new digital future.
The Strategy’s implementation will play a pivotal role in boosting the national economy, attracting more investment, increasing GDP, and generating additional budget revenue:
- USD 56 billion in additional GDP across various economic sectors by 2030;
- USD 9 billion in budget revenue from emerging sectors, including digital healthcare, online education, educational technologies, smart cities, and more.
The Strategy for the Development of Electronic Communications was initiated by the Ministry of Digital Transformation, with support from the USAID/UK aid project “Transparency and Accountability in Public Administration and Services/TAPAS” in collaboration with the Better Regulation Delivery Office.
