How businesses can access support following the destruction: Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture presents three key programmes
The Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine has presented state support programmes for businesses affected by russian aggression. These are tools designed to help businesses resume production following destruction, compensate for losses and preserve jobs, even in frontline regions.
The support mechanisms were presented during the webinar ‘Restoration of Affected Businesses’ for regional military administrations, state institutions and partner banks.
Opening the webinar, Oleksii Sobolev, Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, emphasised that support for Ukrainian businesses, particularly in frontline regions, remains a key priority of state policy.
“Ukrainian businesses are under enemy fire every day. These are the enterprises that keep the economy afloat, provide jobs for people and continue to operate even under the most difficult conditions. It is of fundamental importance to us that they are not left to face the consequences of the destruction alone, but feel the real support of the state,” said Oleksii Sobolev.
In particular, there are currently three Government programmes designed to support businesses:
• Grants for the restoration of manufacturing enterprises. Ukrainian manufacturers in the processing industry can receive up to UAH 16 million to recover from damage or destruction. The state covers up to 80% of the project cost, with priority given to enterprises in frontline regions.
• Programme for compensation for losses from war risks. This provides for partial compensation for the cost of damaged or destroyed property for businesses in 10 high-risk regions, as well as compensation for insurance premiums under war risk insurance policies.
• ‘Point of Support’. The programme aims to support businesses that have been forced to temporarily suspend operations due to shelling. It provides for compensation for part of employees’ wages and social security contributions during the period of inactivity.
State support programmes are extremely important for the economic recovery of the regions. Consequently, local authorities are keen to ensure that as many businesses as possible that have suffered as a result of the aggression can participate.
Representatives of the Regional Military Administrations were advised to actively disseminate information about available initiatives among entrepreneurs and to assist businesses with submitting applications and obtaining advice.
Entrepreneurs can seek advice from the Export-Credit Agency, the State Employment Service, the programme’s partner banks (Oschadbank and Ukreximbank) and use QR codes for quick access to information and for submitting applications.
The webinar was also attended by Taras Vysotskyi, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture, and Dmytro Kysylevskyi, Member of the Ukrainian Parliament, who told in detail about business support programmes, mechanisms for obtaining assistance and tools to stimulate the resumption of production.
The Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture emphasised that the state’s main task today is to ensure that Ukrainian enterprises can resume operations as quickly as possible, retain their workforce and continue working even in wartime conditions.
