  • More than UAH 84 million of state aid paid to victims of flooding in Kherson and Mykolaiv regions

    More than UAH 84 million of state aid has already been paid to those affected by flooding in Kherson and Mykolaiv regions. This was reported at a meeting chaired by Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, on financial payments to the population affected by the floods caused by the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station dam.

    The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, the Ministry of Social Policy, Mykolaiv and Kherson Regional Military Administrations, Ukrposhta and OCHA Ukraine.

    As of September 14, residents of these regions had received financial support totaling UAH 84.4 million. Thus, 15,879 residents of Kherson and 1,007 residents of Mykolaiv regions have already benefitted from the state aid. Payments are made to bank accounts or in cash via Ukrposhta.

    In addition, the participants discussed the status of implementation of the resolution on the payment of financial assistance from the state for the lost crops due to the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. Particular attention was paid to addressing the identified problems.

    As a reminder, residents of Mykolaiv and Kherson regions who suffered from flooding as a result of the enemy's explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant dam can receive a one-time financial assistance. It is a payment from the state in the amount of UAH 5,000. Applications are accepted until October 31, 2023.
