Corporate governance  plan for JSC Ukrzaliznytsia approved by the Government allowed to implement systemic approach to retrofitting one of the pillar of the Ukrainian economy. This was stated by Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Kistion during the Government session.

According to him, during the last two years the team of Ukrzaliznytsia managed to achieve significant changes in the work of the main rail carrier.  Since 2016, the company has been conducting a break-even business, increasing capitalization, and implementing large-scale infrastructure projects.

"The Government  hails the teamwork of the Supervisory Board of Ukrzaliznytsia with its shareholder, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Corporate governance reform yielded tangible results within a short space of time. The formation of the board of company as well as approval of the Strategy of Ukrzaliznytsia are on the agenda ", the Vice Prime Minister stressed.

Volodymyr Kistion positively assessed the work of the Supervisory Board of Ukrzaliznytsya and commended the efforts of the newly appointed Chairman of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia Board Yevhen Kravtsov in reforming the railway.

"The vote of confidence given two years ago by the Government to Yevhen Kravtsov  was proven to be successful. The economic indicators of Ukrzaliznytsia's work demonstrate this. We expect that the reformative decisions of the Supervisory Board and the new Board of Directors will also increase the social protection of employees ", the Vice Prime Minister underscored.
