The cultural life of communities and small settlements transfers to a new level due to state programs of financial support and decentralization, which entails new opportunities and new quality of management the territories.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman announced during a meeting with the participants of the competition of cultural and art projects "Small Cities - Great Impressions". The project was launched last year. It is funded from the state budget, and its purpose is to support cultural ideas in small settlements and amalgamated territorial communities. A year ago, 167 initiatives were submitted to the competition, of which 8 initiatives became the winners. This year, the number of ideas - nominees has already reached 182, and the number of winners - 74. The total funding for these cultural proposals will be UAH 41.3 million. By the number of winners, Odesa and Lviv regions became champions - there will be implemented 8 cultural projects in each region. The TOP-5 of the active cultural regions enter Vinnytsya, Khmelnytsky and Ivano-Frankivsk regions as well.
It is noteworthy that the participants of the "Small Cities - Great Impressions" competition are already teaching colleagues from the regions, how to submit their ideas correctly to receive funding. Some of those also became students of the Cultural Leadership Academy, which was established by the Ministry of Culture jointly with the Goethe-Institut and the Ukrainian Institute of Cultural Policy.
In his address to the participants of the meeting, which took place on the territory of the Podillia exposition of the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine, the Head of Government said that the initiative of cultural revival of communities deserves support and motivation.
"The projects you submit enumerated 8 projects at the beginning, and today there are 74. Those are hundreds of initiatives. This is the real life that you fill with content. This is the support of the greatness of the Ukrainian people. I express my gratitude to you for your indifference, for your contributing ideas and fighting for them", said Volodymyr Groysman.
