During the visit of the Ukrainian delegation to the Slovak Republic the Deputy Chairman of the State Forest Resources Agency of Ukraine Volodymyr Bondar met with the leadership of the State enterprise "Forests of the Slovak Republic".
The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to cooperation within the framework of the Memorandum between the State Forest Resources Agency of Ukraine and the State enterprise Forests of the Slovak Republic and the National Forest Center of Slovakia.
The sides emphasized that balanced forest management is a successful framework concept, the implementation of which enhances the benefits of forests to society in Europe and contributes to a sustainable solution to global and regional problems such as climate change and socio-economic development.
"We discussed the issues of efficient forestry management and conservation of forest biodiversity. Particular attention was paid to the problem of the impact of climate change on forests and adaptation to its changes in the forest sector.
