The Ministry of Health together with experts have drafted a Concept for the reform of emergency medical services. The main objective of the Concept is to improve the quality and reliability of emergency care for everyone, as well as to enhance prestige of the profession of an employee of the medical emergency response system.
The emergency medicine reform is a long and complicated process that requires the development of a detailed step-by-step action plan that is consistent with the core provisions of the Concept.
In order to discuss the key elements of the emergency medicine reform, problem issues and to identify further specific tasks and terms of their implementation, the Ministry of Health has established a working group - experts, MPs and employees of the Ministry.
The first meeting of the working group was devoted to the development and strengthening of operative-dispatching services (ODS) during which there were discussed urgent problems in the operation of ODS system.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health engages in elaboration of legal documents to regulate the work of the emergency medical service.
It is planned that on the basis of the Concept of Emergency Medical Care Reform in the near future a state target program will be developed and allow for the implementation of key changes to be implemented no later than 2019.
