On April 9, 2021, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine Oleg Uruskyi held an official meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federative Republic of Brazil to Ukraine and Moldova Norton de Andrade Mello Rapesta.

During the meeting, the parties discussed further steps to deepen cooperation between Ukraine and Brazil, in particular, raised issues of cooperation in the field of aircraft construction.

"Our countries have a strong aviation industry potential, and therefore the organization of cooperation in this direction can open up new prospects for the development of bilateral relations," said Oleg Uruskyi.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine also expressed confidence that military-technical cooperation would launch a new page in relations between the two states.

In addition, the parties stressed the need to hold the seventh meeting of the Joint Ukrainian-Brazilian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation this year.

Oleg Uruskyi reminded that recently at the political level cooperation between Ukraine and Brazil has been developing quite dynamically. At the end of last year, the First Defense Industry Dialogue between the countries took place in Kyiv, during which the Ministry of Strategic Industries and the Ministry of Defense of Brazil signed a Memorandum of Understanding on scientific and technical cooperation and commercialization of defense products.

"And this year, during the IDEX 2021 exhibition in Abu Dhabi, I had a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Defense of Brazil to discuss filling with content the signed document," added the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine.
