Veteran PRO: digital space for veterans launched in Diia

The Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry for Veterans Affairs have unveiled a new digital space in the Diia app – Veteran PRO. All essential services for the veteran community, from securing grants to applying for mortgages via eOselia, are now consolidated in a single section.

Transforming Veterans’ Interaction with the State

Veteran PRO in the Diia app is a unified digital platform where veterans and their families can access critical services instantly: finding a support specialist, accessing sports funding, applying for the eOselia preferential mortgage, eVidnovlennia assistance, subsidies, and disability status confirmation. No queues or unnecessary bureaucracy – all services are grouped in one section to save defenders’ time and provide convenient, user-friendly access to support directly from a smartphone.

This space is about trust, simplicity, and valuing people’s time. All services are quick and clear, with no queues or paperwork. The launch of Veteran PRO also reflects a shift towards building state policy with digital tools to provide timely and dignified support to those who need it.

Over the coming months, the platform will expand based on the community’s needs, feedback from NGOs, support specialists, and veterans themselves.

Making the State Accessible for Defenders and Their Families

The new section was presented by the Ministry for Veterans Affairs and the Ministry of Digital Transformation on 7 July in Kyiv, with the participation of Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, and Minister for Veterans Affairs Nataliia Kalmykova. Key stakeholders and partners also attended.

During the event, veterans tested the new section in Diia, shared their impressions, and discussed their experiences interacting with the state and their expectations for Veteran PRO.

More to Come

The Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry for Veterans Affairs will continue developing the digital infrastructure for veteran services. Plans include additional information formats, support for specialists, guides, videos, webinars, and training events.

The goal is to ensure every veteran has equal access to services – not through queues and paperwork, but via their smartphone.

Background

The project was implemented by the Ministry for Veterans Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Diia, with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine under the Diia Support Project, funded by Sweden.
