The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted a resolution that allows for the completion of the procedure to amend the State Budget and secure additional funding from the European Union to meet the needs of the security and defense sector.

The approved resolution removes legislative barriers to the timely mobilization of financial assistance from the European Union and the allocation of additional funds for the payment of salaries to military personnel, as well as for the procurement, modernization, and repair of weapons, military equipment, and ammunition for the needs of the Defense Forces.

The adoption of this decision shall ensure the continuity of funding for defense needs and prevent any gaps in the army’s support during a critical operational period.

“Today, Ukraine is expanding its long-range capabilities, scaling up unmanned systems at a record pace, while the Defense Forces are undergoing their most significant transformation since independence. It is important to maintain this pace,” stated Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, thanking the Parliament leadership and members for their prompt consideration of the issue and backing the decision.
