The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has endorsed the Government's nominations for Finance Minister Serhii Marchenko and for Health Minister Maxym Stepanov.

During the extraordinary session of Parliament on March 30, the appointment of Serhii Marchenko was supported by 256 MPs, Maxym Stepanov – by 246 MPs.

“The requirements for the candidates were very high, there is no other way at this challenging time. I believe that Maxym Stepanov and Serhii Marchenko will ensure the effective work of the ministries and direct efforts to overcome the common threat,” Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal commented on the decision.

The newly appointed members of the Cabinet of Ministers have sworn an oath of office before the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
