The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has dismissed Ihor Umanskyy from the post of Minister of Finance and Illya Yemets from the post of Minister of Health, according to the submission of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
249 Verkhovna Rada deputies supported Ihor Umansky's dismissal, 271 deputies supported Illya Yemets’ dismissal at an extraordinary session of Parliament on March 30.
"Ilya Yemets and Ihor Umansky are professionals who are capable of implementing long-term reforms. But now the country needs immediate action. That is why it was decided to submit to the Verkhovna Rada resolutions on the dismissal of the Minister of Health and the Minister of Finance," Prime Minister Denys Schmyhal commented and expressed his hope that Ilya Yemets and Ihor Umansky would continue to help the Government team.
Apart from that, the Head of Government noted that the current Cabinet of Ministers had been working for less than a month, but the challenges it faced had not been felt by any Government in recent years. "During an emergency situation regime, one day counts for a month," he stressed.
