On April 2, 2020, at its meeting, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved an Action Program. Thus, among the main priorities of the Government's work have been determined the invariability of the course towards the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine, the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. Those will enable the implementation of the principles of economic, legal and social development envisaged in the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, while integration into NATO will strengthen Ukraine's defense capability.
“Ukraine needs an emergency response plan to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, its economic and social impact. The program approved by the Government provides us with such a plan. We focus on urgent needs but do not remove our focus from strategic priorities, including sustainable development goals,” commented Vadym Prystaiko, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine.
Apart from that, the Deputy Prime Minister added that amid the challenges facing Ukraine, it is crucial to maintain strong engagement with the international community in countering the pandemic and its negative aftereffects.
“We are not slowing down the pace of reforms. European and Euro-Atlantic integration remains at the basis of our transformation. Our priorities are as follows: the implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, sectoral integration, security sector reforms in line with NATO standards and principles,” Vadym Prystaiko added.
