Ukraine has already harvested nearly 5.5 million tonnes of grain and legumes of the new crop

The harvesting campaign of early grain and legume crops continues in Ukraine. As of July 21, farmers across all regions have threshed 1.34 million hectares, or 11% of the forecasted area, and harvested 5.47 million tonnes of grain of the new crop.

Specifically, the following has already been collected:

• Wheat — 2.6 million tonnes from 633.2 thousand hectares, with an average yield of 41.1 c/ha

• Barley — 2.56 million tonnes from 580.5 thousand hectares, with a yield of 44.1 c/ha

• Peas — 301.4 thousand tonneaxs from 121.6 thousand hectares, with a yield of 24.8 c/ha

By volume of early grain and legume harvest, the leaders are farmers of Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions:

• Odesa region — 1,596.7 thousand tonnes from 385.0 thousand hectares (wheat — 616.5 thousand tonnes, barley — 858.2 thousand tonnes, peas — 133.0 thousand tonnes)

• Mykolaiv region — 1,302.6 thousand tonnes from 365.5 thousand hectares (wheat — 694 thousand tonnes, barley — 521.7 thousand tonnes, peas — 83.1 thousand tonnes)

• Dnipropetrovsk region — 1,004.6 thousand tonnes from 256.5 thousand hectares (wheat — 712.2 thousand tonnes, barley — 273.5 thousand tonnes, peas — 18.3 thousand tonnes)

In parallel, rapeseed harvesting is underway. Winter and spring rapeseed has already been threshed on 216.2 thousand hectares, yielding 429.6 thousand tonnes with an average productivity of 19.9 c/ha.
