Today, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in the second reading government draft law No. 11310. 284 MPs voted in favor.
“In the law, we set a goal to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. We have also defined the architecture of climate governance in Ukraine, financial instruments for achieving climate goals, and taken into account the goals of the state climate policy in post-war recovery programs,” said Svitlana Grynchuk, Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine.

According to Svitlana Grynchuk, we are now bringing our legislation even closer to the EU law. This is another argument in the negotiation process that Ukraine stands ready to join the EU and fulfills the conditions for receiving financial assistance under the Ukraine Facility.
