  • Government has approved the procedure and conditions for granting a subvention for socio-economic development, says the Prime Minister

    The Government seeks to strengthen cooperation and improve coordination with local authorities. Decentralization reform and regional development were among the main priorities that were successfully implemented last year. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on February 3.

    During the meeting, the Government approved changes to the Procedure and conditions for providing subventions from the state budget to local budgets for the implementation of measures for socio-economic development of certain territories. According to the Head of Government, the budget for 2021 provides a UAH 6 billion resource for the relevant projects.

    "These funds can be spent on the construction and reconstruction of social infrastructure. For the purchase of healthcare equipment or public transport. Funds can be directed on energy efficiency and energy-saving projects. On nature protection and other environmental projects," said Denys Shmyhal.

    Moreover, according to the Prime Minister, the funds can be used for other projects that will promote community development and increase the comfort, safety and well-being of people.
