The Government is introducing a funded pension system for employees of enterprises included in the list of large-scale privatization objects. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a session of the Cabinet of Ministers on December 9.
"Today, the Government has launched a pilot project – a program of additional social protection for employees of enterprises that are subject to large-scale privatization. An investor who buys such a state-owned facility will pay contributions to private pension funds for more than half of the company's employees within two years after privatization," the Prime Minister said.
According to Denys Shmyhal, contributions will make up at least 4% of salary. This will be one of the first steps towards the full introduction of the funded pension system for all Ukrainians.
