Today, June 12, at an extraordinary meeting of the Government, a decision was made to resume the operation of checkpoints at Ukrainian airports, as well as to ensure the possibility for foreign citizens to cross the border. Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladyslav Kryklii told.
"We continue to gradually rebuild our aviation. Today, with its decision the Government has opened checkpoints at Ukrainian airports and allowed entry for foreigners who are not citizens of countries with a high COVID-19 morbidity rate and have not been on the territory of such states for the past 14 days. These changes will make it possible to resume the work of air transport companies and maintain international air services," said the Minister.
According to him, such a decision is anticipated and is inextricably linked with the resumption of international scheduled passenger services in Ukraine from June 15.
"The prerogative to open borders will remain for countries with developed tourism and a favorable epidemiological situation. We are gradually opening the skies, but the safety and protection of our citizens remain a priority," Vladyslav Kryklii added.
