The Memorandum of Understanding between the Government, investors and producers of electricity from RES takes into account the interests of all the stakeholders: the state, investors and consumers.

Acting Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection Olha Buslavets told during a briefing.

"The Memorandum contains conditions that take into account both the interests of investors and provide benefits for the state. Due to the implementation of the Memorandum, the financial burden on the electricity market will be reduced. It is about UAH 7 billion annually during the 2030 support period. In total, the State will save about EUR 2 billion by 2030. Definitely, that will affect every consumer who pays for electricity," said Olha Buslavets.

According to her, Ukraine completely shares global environmental trends, but the development of green energy should take place in accordance with clear mechanisms.
"We must advance towards making our country environmentally friendly, we have developed clean technologies for electricity production. We support all world trends in this direction. But we understand that we must create such conditions to ensure the development of clean energy generation at a lower price, so that our consumers can pay for this energy," said the acting Minister.

To ensure the implementation of the terms of the Memorandum, the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection drafted a bill, which was approved by the Government and submitted to the Verkhovna Rada for registration.
