On February 19, at its meeting, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has established a Coordination Center for industrial issues with the main task to ensure the growth of industrial production, creation of new jobs.
The Coordination Center comprises representatives of the central executive authorities such as the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Ministry of Energy, the State Tax Service and State Customs Service, as well as the State Statistics Service. The Coordination Center will be chaired by the Prime Minister of Ukraine.
Among the principal objectives of the Coordination Center are to coordinate the efforts of the Government, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and business to develop effective mechanisms to apply in the industrial policy, to respond to and avoid crisis situations in the industry.
The Coordination Center was set up to strengthen collaboration with industry representatives to address pressing issues for each particular industry.
The establishment of the Coordination Center for industrial issues was supported by representatives of the Antimonopoly Committee, the National Bank of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Development, industrial enterprises, industry associations, representative bodies (Ukrmetalurgprom, Ukrlegprom, Ukraviabud, UkrMashbud, Metinvest, Agrarian Union etc. ), international experts and representatives of international organizations and institutions in Ukraine, independent experts and representatives of public associations and NGOs (UkrPromzovnishekspertyza etc.).
