During a meeting on April 21, the Government approved the procedure for conducting a national forest inventory, which will provide an opportunity to obtain comprehensive information on the quantity and quality of forests in Ukraine.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal noted that the previous state registration of Ukrainian forests had been conducted in 2011. And as of today, according to him, there is no relevant information about forests in Ukraine.

"Over the next 5 years, we will collect data annually. As a result, the state and the public will receive all the necessary information about the location, coverage of Ukraine’s territory with forests and the condition they are in. This is a very important project for strategic planning, for the environment, for forestry and for the future of our state," the Head of Government stressed.

Besides, the Cabinet of Ministers supported the decision to facilitate access to information on land management and land plots.

"Due to this decision, the efficiency of the State Fund for Land Management and Land Evaluation Documentation will improve. That will allow for reducing the time for receiving information from the Fund and improving the quality of receipt and accounting of data," said the Prime Minister.
