Farmers will be able to receive a state subsidy in the amount of UAH 5,000 per hectare, but in total not more than UAH 100,000 per farm. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on April 21.

The Government has improved the process of providing state financial support for the development of farms. In particular, the decision provides for an increase in the amount of subsidies to newly created farms per unit of arable land.

"Support and development of farming and agriculture entail stimulating the economy, and food security of the state, as well as the development of rural areas. We see significant but untapped agricultural potential, especially regarding small family farms. In total, there are almost 50,000 farms in Ukraine. These are Ukrainian farmers who cultivate small plots of land," said Denys Shmyhal.

According to the Prime Minister, such farms do not always have equal conditions for attracting cheap resources for development as large market players can afford.

"Our goal is to provide equal conditions for the development and creation of farms. The development of small family farms is one of our priorities in the agricultural sector," the Prime Minister stressed.
